The animated cards

A birthday can be loud. A thank you should feel warm. Some messages need to be quiet. Each of these is drawn, lit and paced for a different kind of moment — and all three are playing below.
How your film gets made
Before anything is filmed, someone writes the shots.
Here is the plan behind a birthday film for someone called Sara — a firework display shaped like peacock feathers, ending on her name. Four shots, each with a job to do.
From near-darkness a single gold comet climbs the centre of the frame. The camera tilts up to follow it. At its apex it opens into one enormous peacock-feather burst, teal fronds unfurling, each tip igniting into a gold-ringed eye.
A slow push-in as five more bursts open in an overlapping arc, arranged like a peacock's fanned tail across the upper frame. The eyes pulse brighter one after another, left to right. Emerald embers rain slowly through the frame.
The camera cranes down, revealing a still lake carrying a perfect mirrored copy of the display. Above, the scattered bursts drift and converge, their sparks curling inward into a single swirl of teal and gold.
Locked off on the glowing heart of the display. The greeting fades in, centred, and holds to the end. Behind it the scene stays alive — small bursts still blooming at the edges, embers still falling, the lake still shimmering.
The animated card beside it tells the same story, drawn instead of filmed.
